Fitness Alternatives, a Whole Health Movement, is a Pilates studio deeply committed to the success of your well being and fitness.  This approach involves a classical understanding of Pilates with the whole health aspects of nutrition and improving one's sense of self.  A boutique studio located on the north shore in Whitefish Bay offering pilates instruction as well as small group training limited in size for personal attention.  


Meet owner/instructor Kathie Spencer

Kathie's interest in whole health began after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996.  Feeling uncertain about her future, she decided to take on her health challenge as a personal passion.  She started taking classes at the University of Wisconsin that focused on wellness and health studying nutritional supplementation support, meditation and movement,  After many years of observation she became a trainer through the American Council of Exercise and started teaching through the Whitefish Bay Community Center.

In 2003, she became certified as a Pilates instructor and continued teaching through the Whitefish Bay Center.  Since then her interest in the mind/body approach to fitness has grown and incorporates Pilates into all of the classes that she teaches. 

Kathie is certified as a Pilates instructor through The National Pilates Certificate Program - Pilates Method Alliance - which is the gold standard for certifying pilates instructors.  Kathie can create a personalized program for your health and wellness.
